Are you looking to learn more about Indigenous issues in Canada? Would you like to help raise awareness and advocate for the missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls (MMIWG) crisis?

Indigenous women face a homicide rate roughly 4.5 times higher than that of all other women in Canada. Red Dress Day takes place annually on May 5 to honour and bring awareness to them. We will be recognizing them on Thursday, May 9. Together we will hang red dresses around the college to raise awareness of this issue. We will then watch the film Finding Dawn together, a documentary that examines the MMIWG crisis in Canada. All are welcome.

Presented in partnership with the Mamidosewin Centre and Student Support Services Health and Wellness.

Agenda

Reception lunch, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Viewing of Finding Dawn, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
